Dear Howard
I am writing to you as one of your employees, a key worker, in BT Technology.
I wish to place on record my deep concern and extreme disappointment in the general direction of the company and the recent actions in BT Technology, making compulsory redundancies and offshoring jobs to India.
I have always believed that BT should engage meaningfully with my union and I am shocked that you have rejected some of their proposals to help avoid compulsory redundancies. This is not the behaviour that I expect from a blue-chip employer at a time of rising unemployment in the UK; you should value the key work carried out by your employees, that have kept the country connected throughout the pandemic.
On my behalf, my union’s position in BT Technology is clear and reasonable:
I urge you to reconsider this course of action. I look forward to your personal response.
