Dear Mr Martin
I am writing to ask that you reinstate the four postal workers from the Prenton Delivery Office that Royal Mail sacked for taking a tea break at an agreed safe rest stop in August.
I believe that the dismissal of these postal workers is a pure smokescreen to hide the mismanagement of the office, which has led to deliveries failing regularly and customers sometimes waiting weeks for mail and parcels to be delivered. The blame for this lies squarely with management-imposed staffing cuts and increased size of delivery rounds, leading to massive failures.
In closing, as a customer, I expect Royal Mail to enter into negotiations immediately with representatives of the Communication Workers Union to work quickly to find a solution that can get the dismissed postal workers back to work and resolve the ongoing problems with mail deliveries across the CH43 postcode to get them back to the standard we the public expect and deserve.
